The iPhone 16 appears to have a vertical thin camera configuration as opposed to the diagonal one that is currently shown. Alleged schematics have revealed an Action button and a suspected Capture button.
On X (formerly Twitter), tipster Majin Bu (@MajinBuOfficial) shared purported CAD renderings of the iPhone 16. According to the leaked renderings, the camera unit is thinner and resembles the iPhone X, with two camera sensors housed in a vertical pill. Outside of the hump is where the flash unit is visible. The camera layout on the base iPhone 15 devices is diagonal.

The iPhone 16 seems to have an Action button in place of the Mute switch. Among its many functions, the Action button made its debut on the iPhone 15 Pro models last year. It can be used to link with the Shortcuts app, activate the flashlight, or access the camera.
The suspected capture button is located beneath the power button on the left spine of the iPhone 16. You could record videos with this button.
Potential features of the button include pressure sensitivity, focus adjustment, and zoom in and out capabilities.

With the new camera arrangement, Apple is anticipated to provide spatial video recording in the entry-level devices. At present, only the iPhone 15 Pro models can record spatial videos.
