ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Pakistan Announces 15-Member Squad for T20 World Cup 2024; Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim return

The PCB announced 15-member squad Pakistan for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which is scheduled to begin on June 1 in the USA and the Caribbean, has been made by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The Babar Azam will be the team’s leader.

Among the selected players, Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Saim Ayub, and Usman Khan will be making their debut appearances in the T20 World Cup.

In the meanwhile, seasoned competitors Imad Wasim and Mohammed Amir, who last participated in the competition in 2021 and 2016, respectively, will be making a comeback.

The remaining eight players on the squad had previously participated in the 2022 event held in Australia.

“Haris Rauf is fully fit and bowling well in the nets. It would have been nice if he had gotten an outing at Headingley. But we remain confident that he will continue to maintain an upward trajectory in the upcoming matches, as he will have an important role to play along with other strike bowlers in the T20 World Cup,” the Pakistan Cricket Board release stated.

Three important people have been appointed to oversee the Pakistan men’s cricket squad, according to a recent statement by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Gary Kirsten will be in charge of the squad for white-ball games. And Jason Gillespie has been named head coach for the red-ball format.

The Pakistani side will play their opening match of the Twenty20 World Cup on June 6 at Dallas’ Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium against USA. They will next proceed to Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
