Fake Payment Screenshots:
Scammer create fake images showing money being sent to the victim, the trick them into sending money back.
You need to verify the transaction directly through UPI apps.
Fake UPI QR Codes:
These QR codes lead to malicious websites or apps that steal your UPI passwords.
Check the source of the QR code before scanning it.
Screen Monitoring Apps:
Harmful apps can record your screen activity to capture credentials and other relevant information like UPI pin and OTPs.
Do never share your UPI PIN, OTPs, or other credentials with anyone.
Collect Request:
Scammer may send a request through UPI app asking for money, pretending to be legitimate entity or offering to help with a transaction issue.
Make sure that you know the person who requested.
Friend in Need:
Scammer impersonate friends or relatives in distress, urging the victim to send money for a fake emergency.
Do never send money to people claiming to be a friend or known person in need without confirming the identity.
