Samson’s century in Hyderabad also made him the first batter to reach the century mark in the 17 T20I matches that India and Bangladesh have played thus far.

Before Samson, the record for the highest individual score in an India-Bangladesh T20I match was in the name of Rohit Sharma, who hammered 89 runs in Colombo on March 14, 2018.

Samson smacked as many as eight sixes during his 111-run knock against Bangladesh in the third T20I.

The eight sixes helped him break Nitish Kumar Reddy’s record of scoring most sixes in an India-Bangladesh T20I match.

Reddy smashed seven sixes for India during the 2nd T20I against Bangladesh, which was played in Delhi on October 9, 2024.

Samson became the second quickest Indian hitter to get a century in Twenty20 international matches when he scored 100 runs in only 40 balls against Bangladesh in the second T20I.

In Twenty20 Internationals, Rohit has the fastest century ever scored for India. In just 35 deliveries during his 118-run innings against Sri Lanka in December 2017, he reached the three-figure threshold.

In the tenth over of the Indian innings, Samson smashed five consecutive sixes off Bangladeshi spinner Rishad Hossain, becoming him the second Indian batsman after Yuvraj Singh to knock at least five sixes in an over in a Twenty20 international match.

On September 19, 2007, during the India-England Twenty20 International match in Durban, Yuvraj hit six sixes in one over.
